Film thickness measuring systems through a scanner, equipped with a capacitive sensor, are divided into:
FTM 1000 system for in-line measurement of the film thickness for blown film in flat and uniform layers is a reliable and easy-to-use measuring system. To measure the bubble thickness, it uses the rotation of the bubble of extrusion systems with rotating head with fixed haul-off or fixed head with oscillating haul-off.
The thickness of the film is measured by a capacitive sensor. This high precision principle of comparative measurement allows to detect the differences in thickness while the film is being processed. The quality of the reel can be improved just in the production phase.
The device does not require any maintenance and is very robust. The surface of the scanner in contact with the film is made in a very resistant material that ensures a long life.
FTM 2000 system allows accurate and reliable film thickness measurement around the bubble circumference in fixed or rotating head extrusion systems.
The profile measurement scanner, mounted on a slide, translates on a circular guide rail along the outer surface of the bubble and measures its thickness. The VIP extrusion management system controls the position of the scanner around the bubble, while detecting its thickness continuosly.
This kind of rotating sensors allows a more frequent thickness measurement (at shorter time intervals) than linear measurement systems on flattened film. For this reason the FTM 2000 system is particularly useful when deployed in combination with a MULTIJET A automatic cooling ring.
This profile measurement system is based on the principle of variation of electrical capacitance proportionally with the film thickness. It features a high measurement accuracy and allows to detect small thickness deviations during the bubble extrusion process. It allows to improve quality of coils just during production phase.
FTM 2000 system requires minimal maintenance and is characterized by great construction robustness. The sensor surface is made in a very resistant material, ensuring long product life.
